Ansgar hotel
The hotel is located adjacent to the central railway station. The surrounding area - a former red light district - has been cleaned up exceptionally well without losing its liveliness. Its location makes the hotel convenient to most of Copenhagen's major attractions, including Tivoli gardens, the Storget shopping street , cinemas, restaurants and the airport bus drop off point at the central station.

Ansgar hotel
The hotel is housed in a traditional white stone building with narrow arched windows. The compact lobby features a large white reception desk and a comfortable seating area to the rear, which looks out onto an interior courtyard. The guest rooms do vary in size, but all offer well proportioned accommodation, ideal for families. They feature simple cherry wood furniture that fits in well with the blue coloured bed linen and plain white walls. Located on the ground floor opposite the lobby area, a number of adjoining rooms make up the breakfast area. Traditonal in decoration, they offer ample, pleasant space in which to enjoy breakfast. During the summer months, however, breakfast can be taken in the courtyard.

Comment
Despite being in the middle of a red light district this is not a bad location in terms of access to the station and Tivoli Gardens, the main shops, bars and restaurants just beyond the other side of the station.
Top Tip
Good Thai supermarket down towards the station and a Thai restaurant called Ban Gaw nearby where you can order food to take away as well as eat in. If you are going to do a boat tour, avoid the one at the end of Nyhavn; it's expensive. As you are facing down the canal, walk on the right bank (the quieter one) and a boat tour with the word Netto included in its name departs from a small quay. It costs about £3 for an adult for a one hour tour.
